Name of your food truck? Gourmet Guyz
Owners names? Matthew Fulton
Why did you start a food truck?
I’ve always wanted to own my own kitchen, the food truck offers the best of both worlds; I get to own the truck, I have the ability to create my own menus/dishes but the versatility to take my Kitchen wherever I need it.
What do you serve?
Globally inspired creations such as Shawarma Bombs, Meatloaf Grilled cheese, Korean Pork Tacos, Paneer tacos.
Your favorite items on the menu?
The menu changes very often but one of my fav’s is the Sunday Dinner, Slow cooked Beef stew with Potatoes, carrots, peas, and fresh horseradish Stuffed into a Yorkshire Pudding.
The most popular item on your menu?
Most underrated? Which do you wish people would take a chance and try?
Paneer Taco, Bombay Spiced Paneer (Indian style curd cheese) Pickled red onion, cilantro, curry yogurt, really a tasty dish.
Craziest food truck story/experience?
We had a fairly slow and late start to our inaugural and our first event was Milton St. Fest Jun 6, 2015. The truck didn’t get wrapped in time so we had a temporary one showcasing the design to come. My equipment had not even been tested if it would light and it was Friday at 4pm the night before. It was very stressful, food was ready to go, I was ready, and thankfully the truck lit perfectly, and we vended our first event without a hitch. Now I’ve done over 70 events!
Where can people find you?
I don’t do much curb side but private plated catering to Street Festivals to carnivals is where you find me. Check us out @gastrofare on Twitter, gourmetguyz on Facebook and Instagram!
Do you have a store/restaurant etc. as well?
No, that may develop down the road but for now I concentrate on building the brand, the food, and the truck.
