Snoop Dogg is taking up arms against the Toronto Maple Leafs, saying that the hockey team’s new logo is similar to that of his own. (Check out the two at the top)
For the rap star, and now marijuana business mogul, Snoop is getting himself onto some slippery ice with Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment. Back in November, Snoop filed a trademark application for his Leafs By Snoop brand with the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office, in a bid to sell weed-related products emblazoned with a 7-point gold leaf logo. It all seemed to be going to plan, until MLSE filed an opposition to Snoop’s proposed logo, asking for the patent office to grant them more time to put together a more detailed argument against the rapper’s trademark.
The rapper and prodigious pot smoker launched his cannabis line last November in Colorado, one of several investments he’s made in the blossoming marijuana industry. Among the “Leafs by Snoop” products are marijuana flowers, chocolate bars and “Dogg Treats” gummies.
