Third Eye Blind were playing a benefit at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland Tuesday night… before taking the stage the band realized a large number of the people in attendence were in town for the RNC and while Mr. Trump or Mr. Pence were not among them some heavy hitters were. So Third Eye Blind took it upon themselves to make their voices heard.
A head of each song in a set that featured none of the bands hits save for ‘Jumper’ (a song which frontman Stephen Jenkins has previously described as “a noir about a guy who jumped off a bridge and killed himself because he was gay,”) the band explained to those in attendance exactly how they felt about the GOPs stance on some of the most pressing issues facing America today. Including, but not limited to, LGBTQ issues, Black Lives Matter, Science, Coal and the separation of Church and State.
For a taste lets go back to ‘Jumper’ and frontman Stephen Jenkins introduction of the song to a predominately GOP supporting crowd..
He followed that by addressing any people booing..
Finally the band took to twitter to address comments about the show..
Third Eye Blind are the best.
