Here a couple of facts that you should know about Soundgarden
- Their name comes from a metal sculpture in Seattle. The artists designed it to make a variety of noises when the wind blew through it. That’s why he called it The Soundgarden.
- Soundgarden was offered $200,000 to play at Woodstock in the summer of 1994—-but they turned it down, saying that the whole thing was “too corporate”
- Their manager was Susan Silver. She also happened to be Chris Cornell‘s wife when Soundgarden was together. But then they went through a really, really ugly divorce that dragged out for years was one of the big impediments to the eventual Soundgarden reunion.
