Here are our favourite stories of the day:
Million Dollar Target Needles
While walking back to their car in a Target parking lot, Carla Denise Garrison saw her 8-year-old daughter pick up a needle. When she went to swat it out of her daughter’s hand, the needle punctured her own hand instead!
Garrison then asked Target to pay her $12,000 to cover medical fees. The medication she was given to prevent any diseases caused her to be bed ridden for quite some time an her husband had to take time off work.
Target refused to pay Garrison the $12,000 so she sued them and ended up receiving 4.6 million dollars.
University Students Getting Deported
So downloading things illegally is like, illegal. We all know that but it does’t mean we don’t do it…
Not that I’m saying it’s OK to do. It is illegal.
You shouldn’t do illegal things or you’ll get thrown in jail… Unless you’re an international university student.
A few international students from the University of Manitoba have been deported after being caught downloading content illegally. No fines, no jail time. Just kicked out. Apparently the Canadian government finds this to be the cheapest way to deal with them.
Some students just don’t want to pay full price for their textbooks and download them online! Can you blame them? Apparently yes.
