He popped into the Briefing Room with his Cubs swag, stepped behind the podium and declared that his Chicago Cubs WILL make it to the World Series, thus shattering a 71-year-old tradition of doing literally the exact opposite.
Which, by the way, they did.
“I feel very confident that Clayton Kershaw is a great, great pitcher, but we’ve got too many sticks,” Murray told reporters, who playing along with the moment, referred to Murray as “Mr. President.”
“We also have a little bit of autumn in Chicago. You don’t get that in Los Angles,” said Murray. “Trees just die in Los Angeles. In Illinois, they flourish.”
