In light of the controversy surrounding the TTC’s new ad campaign that promotes Toronto’s local talent, in this case it was the National Ballet of Canada, they’ve made some interesting decisions.
No, they didn’t remove their ads.
But they did reject someone else’s due to it being inappropriate.
This Yuk Yuk’s ad was submitted to the TTC and was rejected because it contained “unacceptable depictions or portrayals” which basically means that what’s in the ad isn’t actually what is being sold.
In a Toronto Star article the Yuk Yuk’s VP Kyra Williams believes this is totally unacceptable, saying that it’s sexist.
If women in bikinis can be used in TTC ads, what’s wrong with a dude in a speedo?
So it begs the question…..
When did THIS become more attractive than THIS!??
