I went to see The Sheepdogs at The Dakota Tavern last night for the Dakota’s 10th Anniversary Show.
It was Giving Tuesday, and The Sheepdogs and The Dakota donated all of the proceeds to Music Project. What they do is so effing cool! They donate personalized iPods to folks who have Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. In some cases these people have forgotten who they are.
However, when they hear music from their past, they can remember the lyrics, as well as their former interests and personalities, if only for a split second. It’s really quite special.
They played this video before the boys took to the stage and I cried happy tears. I’ve always been a big believer in music therapy, and if I can, and if you can, I would like to suggest you make a donation to this beautiful organization.
