Was it hot tonight, or was it just Tokyo Police Club?
GTA-natives, Tokyo Police Club, kicked-off their three night stint at the MOD Club Theatre on a snowy Thursday night in Toronto. After a set by Your Boy Tony Braxton (aka Shad’s new musical project, which featured Wade MacNeil!), TPC blasted out of the gates with their latest singles, ‘My House’ and ‘Not My Girl’. With the long hair, and lingering teenage-acne now gone, the feeling and presence of Tokyo Police Club remains the same. Lead singer, David Monks, was hitting all of the right notes, even 10 years removed from their debut. Speaking of their debut, A Lesson in Crime, they performed the entire album, much to the delight of the diehard TPC fans, in honour of the 10-year anniversary of the release! Some of these songs had not been performed in years, and the band didn`t skip a beat. From diehard, to casual Tokyo-fan, no one left the night feeling disappointed…except for maybe that most of us would not be able to see them again tonight! Thanks for yet another amazing performance, Tokyo Police Club!
