A music video directed by Bill Paxton has been unearthed in lieu of the actor’s death on Saturday, aged 61.
So the story goes that in 1980, Paxton did the video for “Fish Heads”, a novelty song by L.A.-based music duo Barnes and Barnes. Paxton volunteered to direct the video after the composers talked about having a video made.
Paxton’s video for “Fish Heads” ran two weeks in a row. In 1993, Rolling Stone magazine ranked it No. 57 on its list of the top 100 music videos of all time. Bill was a dedicated guy, hand-picking out each fish head.. He also ended up pitching the music video to SNL producers, who ended up loving it and playing it on their show.
Thank you Mr. Paxton, for this video, and for just being a super cool dude.
