The trailer for a new movie called “Filth City” was released March 1st and its generated quite the conversation in the GTA.
Why, you ask? Because it’s inspired by the real events of the late Rob Ford’s most controversial months as Toronto’s mayor.
Filth City, “When a mayor running for re-election is caught on video smoking crack, he’ll do whatever it takes to keep it out of the wrong hands. Inspired by true events.”
Considering the circumstances of Rob Ford’s death though, this seems to be in very poor taste.
It was written and directed by Andy King and stars Melinda Shankar, Kenny Hotz from Kenny vs. Spenny, and Pat Thornton as Mayor Tom Hogg.
There is some obvious controversy surrounding this… Especially since it’s being released on March 25th. Only 3 days after the one year anniversary of Rob Ford’s death.
Maybe people are looking too much into it! But maybe not at all.
What do you think after watching that trailer?
