Elon Musk is launching a company that will try to merge the brain with artificial intelligence. It’s both the thing of nightmares and science fiction movies set in the future. They say implanting chips in the brain could help cure diseases, so there’s that. But this scares me. The thought of people wandering about with devices in their brains. What if they got hacked? What if everyone started malfunctioning? What if the government could access our brain and make us all do things against our will? Could we still have free will? So many questions.
“SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk is backing a brain-computer interface venture called Neuralink. The company, which is still in the earliest stages of existence and has no public presence whatsoever, is centered on creating devices that can be implanted in the human brain, with the eventual purpose of helping human beings merge with software and keep pace with advancements in artificial intelligence. These enhancements could improve memory or allow for more direct interfacing with computing devices.”
Merging our brain with software is a crazy idea and I don’t think we need it. How long until we’re at Total Recall level of implants? What IS reality? I guess it could be whatever Elon wants to put there for you to experience.
