It was five years ago today that our Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau (then-Liberal MP), boxed his way to victory against Conervative Senator Patrick Brazeau in a charity boxing match. This win seems to have taken Trudeau all the way to the top. Trudea’s no heavyweight, but he can certainly take a punch like he said himself.
The stakes were high in this fight… The loser having to have their hair chopped off at Parliament and then proceed to wear a hockey jersey with the victor’s party logo on it for a week. Seems like most thought Brazeau was going to be the victor as he appeared heavier, although shorter, but nope!
The unexpected win shocked many, and Trudeau seems like he hasn’t changed one bit, while graciously praising Brazeau after he beat him. What a guy that Trudeau is. Don’t mess with this Prime Minister, ‘cuz you know he might beat the crap out of you… and then compliment you.
Fast forward six months… Trudeau announces he will be running for the Liberal Leadership, and then fast forward even more, he wins, and becomes Prime Minister. Classy. Turns out Brazeau was charged on a few accounts of assault and sexual assault, and later kicked out of the senate after being charged with Fraud. He went on to to work at a strip club, and even tried semi-pro wrestling.
Point of this story: Don’t mess with Trudeau.
