National Geographic is running their annual “Travel Photographer of the Year” contest. Each year, photographers around the world submit their work in hopes of having them featured in National Geographic’s magazine. The official categories for the contest are Nature, Cities, and People. Every week the editors highlight some of their favourite photos that have been submitted. This week they’re highlighting photo’s submitted in the People category. Take a look!

The grand prize is a 10-day trip for two to the Galápagos Islands with National Geographic Expeditions. There will also be 3 winners for each of the categories with 1st place getting $2,500; 2nd place gets $750; and 3rd place will get $500.
