On Wednesday, Donald Trump wrote an interesting (if you can call it that) tweet just after midnight. Here it is:
So it’s pretty obvious that he was trying to write “coverage” and just fumbled, probably due to the fact that he was angry-tweeting (twangry?) when most people were sleeping.
The best part of this whole thing though, wasn’t that Trump made a dumb typing error, it was what the internet did with it…because Trump followed up with a question.
See, if he didn’t make it a bigger deal than he needed to, people may not have responded so thoroughly.
The internet made cartoons.
America’s spelling bee champ was on CNN to try to spell it.
The Daily Show even made a fake film trailer about it, titled ‘Covfefe: Based on a True Typo’.
And just to put the icing on the cake, Sean Spicer showed up to save the day…by saying it was INTENTIONAL.
“The president and a small group of people knew exactly what he meant.” – Sean Spicer
Ok Spicy, we’ll let you have this one.
