I know, I KNOW. Bioware has burned our collective butts in the past with over promising and under delivering on some of our favourite IP’s from yesteryear. Try to spit Mass Effect Andromeda out of your mouth and look forward to Anthem.
A fancy new IP from the RPG power house known previous as codename Dylan, Anthem is an elusive jungle combat zone with a hub centre to catapult explorers known as “Freelancer” into the unknown.
This is not an RPG, an action RPG, it’s what executives are lovingly calling, “Shared-World Action RPG” that is to say, the game is open world and is meant to be played with others. The narrative is more emergent in it’s construction and less exposition based.
Here is why is that is terrific news for Bioware and us.
