Don’t you just hate it when you think you’re going to catch a 9ft shark and instead you reel in a 17ft sawfish? Ughhhh the worst right!?! This very situation happened to Josh Ludwig down in Naples, Florida. He was out with his buddy on their 16ft boat when he snagged something pretty large. They saw a fin and assumed it must be a shark. After fighting this thing for 2 hours, they were surprised to find a sawfish at the end of the line.
After seeing it up close they noticed that the sawfish had been tangled up in some rope and looked to be in destress. Josh and his friend were able to free the sawfish and eventually let it go, not before snapping a few pics of course. This type of sawfish is considered to be critically endangered and is not meant to be kept.
