The tiny Quebec town of Montebello (population 978) will make room for thousands of rock fans this weekend for Canada’s biggest festival with a penchant for rock, punk, metal and the like.
Rammstein, Queens of the Stone Age and Iggy Pop will be headlining, plus sets from 130 more artists including Alexisonfire, The Offspring, Wu-Tang Clan, At the Drive-In, AFI, 311, Bad Religion, Pennywise, The Specials and Eagles of Death Metal.
Now in its twelfth year, Rockfest founder Alex Martel started the festival in rural Quebec when he was only 17. How connected do you have to be to start something this big so young??
Aside from the festival grounds, festival-goers will take over the sidewalks, streets, parking lots and backyards for a weekend of happy outdoor debauchery, head-banging and French-Canadian flare.
Less than a six hour drive from Toronto, grab a tent, pack up the car and head east. The last of the tickets and camping spots are on sale at montebellorockfest.com. Check out the crazy lineup!
