Gene Simmons has reportedly given up on trademarking the “devil horns” hand gesture. The Kiss frontman filed an application to trademark the hand gesture earlier this month, claiming he was the first to use it back in 1974. However, today the trademark application was withdrawn.
Many rock fans have pointed out that the hand gesture was used before Gene’s claim, By the late Black Sabbath frontman Ronnie James Dio and John Lennon on the cover of the 1968 album “Yellow Submarine”. The hand gesture also means “I love you” in sign language.
