Thanks to Hybrid Theory my brother and I finally found something in common in our adolescence. We were able to bond over our love of Linkin Park and spent hours in our basement blaring the album and learning every word to every song. I can still quote it today. I had pictures of Chester and Mike all over my locker at school. I did a dance to ‘Points Of Authority’ in the school’s talent show. This band WAS my childhood. I am completely heartbroken over the loss of Chester Bennington and hope he has finally found peace.
I interviewed Chester only a few months ago. He couldn’t have been kinder and more gracious with his time. He was smart, kind, funny, engaging and just a pleasure to speak to. I can’t pretend I knew him but I enjoyed the short time our lives intersected.
The last time we saw Chester was in March when he and Mike stopped by to chat about their new album and direction the band was heading in, as well as give a beautiful performance of their then newest single, “Heavy”.
Chester and Mike talk with Adam about their new album, One More Light.
Chester and Mike perform an acoustic version of their song “Heavy”.

We here at The Edge have loved working with Chester, no matter how briefly, and supporting his art throughout the years. His music will continue to live on The Edge and our thoughts go to his bandmates, friends and family. RIP Chester Bennington. March 20, 1976 – July 20, 2017.
