While some careers have a short shelf live–that’s rock’n’roll, innit?–some artists are able to carry on and on, year after year. After a while, though, you might get the sense that like a smelly brother-in-law who won’t ever lift the toilet seat that they’ve overstayed their welcome. “Why don’t they just go away?” you think.
Who, in your opinion, fits that bill? Who has been around so long that they’re just annoying and/or embarrassing?
Me? I might have said the Rolling Stones before their Lonesome and Blue album of last year, which was pretty solid. But I can’t say I’m ever going to run out to see them again. The Eagles? Enough, already.
Again, no judgment. This is a chance to unburden yourself in a safe space without fear of ridicule or recrimination. We’re all friends here, right? Think of this as a fun discussion in a bar. Just keep the vitriol to a minimum, okay?
