Over the past weekend Taylor Swift released a music video about something that some people thought was ..something? Another place where Taylor was getting a lot of attention this weekend was on Reddit. Although many people already knew, it was pointed out in the subreddit r/TodayILearned that Taylor did not have as many obstacles on the way to fame and fortune. Well, none when it came to fortune. Her father, Scott Kingsley Swift, comes from a family of bank presidents and eventually bought stock in the record label that would eventually launch his daughters career.
The tweet being from last year shows that some were well aware of the Swift family background before the Reddit post made the knowledge a bit more mainstream, but there are some other famous public figures that have never had to go through the “Hungry Artist” phase.
Known for his character “Ruxin” on FX’s The League and Comedy Central’s The Kroll Show, Actor/Writer/Comedian Nick Kroll also comes from a family of wealth. His father, Jules B. Kroll, started Kroll Inc. who reported a 1 BILLION dollar revenue in 2007.
Chevy Chase’s character of Pierce Hawthorne heir to the Hawthorne Wipes fortune in the fan favourite series, Community, was not far off the mark. His grandfather was Cornelius Vanderbilt Crane, an heir to The Crane Company. He is actually cousins with Anderson Cooper of CNN fame, another public figure born into wealth.
The hair colour certainly matches.
Before he was trying to convince us it was Proactiv that gave him confidence instead of the fact he’s a chair spinning angel that still allows Maroon 5 to call itself Maroon 5 instead of “The guys who play on stage with Adam Levine” it’s estimated that he had a net worth of $35 Million from his father’s legal practice and high end fashion line, M. Fredric.
So the next time you think you have to take years crafting a skill, practice that skill, then apply those skills in an entertaining manner for what seems like forever before you MAY have a chance of being noticed; you can always skip that step if you have a lot of money 😀 😀 😀
