Rescuers combed through rubble after a earthquake collapsed buildings in Central Mexico City. All this happened on the anniversary of a devastating earthquake that took place decades ago in 1985. It has been reported that at least 116 people died in the 7.1 magnitude earthquake. Most deaths were reported in Puebla, Morelos and Mexico states, and Mexico City. Mexico City is built on former lakebed, and the soil is known to amplify the effects of earthquakes even hundreds of miles away causing more destruction.
