This Tuesday Survey is directed at people who have seen concerts or attended festivals outside the GTA.
For years, I’ve heard that Toronto audiences just don’t get into shows as much as people in other cities and provinces and countries.
In my experience–and yes, I’m speaking in very general terms here–audiences in Montreal seem to be more into the concert experience that we are. They’re louder, more boisterous and sing along more. And every time I’ve been to a gig in the UK, it’s been a physical experience. The energy that comes from the crowd even before anyone hits the stage can be staggering.
So I put this to you: What’s the difference between concert crowds around here and those elsewhere? Do we tend to be a little–and how do I put this tactfully?–restrained when it comes to our participation in live events? And in your experience, where was the best concert crowd you’ve ever experienced?
No judgment. We’re all friends who can speak honestly in this safe space.
