Hugh Hefner passed away in his home late last night from natural causes at the age of 91.
He served in the Army, attended college, and spent a number of years working in the magazine publishing industry.
Hugh Hefner discovered that there was a market for an “upscale men’s magazine” and decided to make this dream come true. He put up his belongings, including furniture, as collateral for a loan and borrowed money from family.
In December of 1953 Mr. Hefner was able to publish the very first issue of Playboy. With Marilyn Monroe on the cover, no less.
