This is not a joke.
Two women were wanted after breaking out of an Edmonton jail and were later found by police in a local escape room.
SideQuests Adventures is the escape room the two women were found in and it is run by Rebecca and Jonathan Liaw. They spoke to Global News about their encounter with the women and it appeared to be pretty… normal.
“It sort of was funny to think that they weren’t going to escape from an escape room. Definitely not as challenging here as, I assume, escaping from jail would be,” said Rebecca Liaw to Global News.
“They continued the stream of typical questions. They were extremely cool about it. They kept up a regular conversation, asking completely typical questions that we do get on a daily basis. Nothing out of the ordinary,” Rebecca told Global News.
Minutes later a police offer entered the business and asked if two women had come in without an appointment. Jonathan said yes, and the officer immediately called for backup.
The rest of the officers showed up and peacefully escorted the women out of the business.
