On November 14th, 539 Bloor St W was filled with great music, flashing lights and enough dancing to burn through your soles. And no, I’m not talking about Dance Cave, I’m talking about Saint Motel’s SOLD-OUT show at Lee’s Palace!
With their popping brass section and catchy tunes, Saint Motel put on one hell of a show at Lee’s Palace. While it has been a year since they released their sophomore LP, saintmotelevision, it’s hard to forget its lead single, “Move”. Before they kicked into it, lead singer, A/J Jackson, being the courteous man he is, asked everyone to find the closest person to them and introduce themselves. This is the person who would become our singing buddy for the evening. Once everyone was acquainted with their new best friend, it was easy to throw caution to the wind and belt out “Move” and “My Type” like nobody was watching. Hope you brought your dancing shoes!
Saint Motel’s fusion of indie pop and rock really help to get your feet moving. Along with their California-based influence, it was a very uplifting experience overall for those in attendance. Saint Motel continues on with their tour across North America, but let’s hope we get to see those boys soon. You won’t want to miss out!
