While the next night (24th) you'll get their 1980- "Whip It" driven commercial breakthhrough Freedom Of Choice. The tour coincides with both records recieving the reissue treatment earlier this month on Warner. A Premium ticket which includes a Meet n Greet with the band is also available.

NEW NUGGETS

Rhino Records Nugget's series is like being able to transport back in time to a record shop of whatever genre you desire. The latest reconstruction of a time gone by is Where The Action Is! Los Angelas Nuggets 1965 -1968. The 4 disc 101 song set covers the varied scences of the city that were all merging together on the Sunset Strip to form one of the most exciting times in rock history. From rarities from the Beach Boys and The Byrds to the Electric Prunes and The Seeds and everything from country rock, bubblegum to pyschedelic blues are covered.. Similar to The San Fransisco Nuggets cd/book set released in 2006 the LA package is full of photos and information that bring no only the music but the look , feel and vibe of the time to life.
Let's hope this week's Rhino restructuring announcement dosn't put the kybosh on this wonderful series.

THE I's" HAVE IT!

With Idaho's Built To Spill featuring the eclectic guitar styling of Doug Martsch in town for a two nighter at Lee's Palace Oct 6 & 7 and a new LP There Is No Enemy (Warner) in stores a week later, here's proof there is more to the state than the potato:

2. Jerry Kramer- Green Bay Packer guard threw the famous block that Bart Starr followed to the end zone in 1967 legendary 'Ice Bowl' win over Dallas.
3. Ernest Hemingway - The author's belvoved resting place in Ketchum will honour him with Ernest Hemingway Symposium Oct 22 -23.
4. Paul Revere - Hat wearing, keyboard playing character led the charge of his band the Raiders to the top of charts with 1966's Kicks and Good Thing.
5. Boise State - The school with the blue field is the best small school football program in US college football. GO BRONCOS!
