Is their supposed to be somthing wrong with this article?
    1. EDGE Disc Golfer posted on 05/10/2012 11:45 AM
@darrellm_8890 No. It's just Dean spreading hate about someone he doesn't like because he doesn't look, think and act like him.

@darrellm_8890 I think the point of the article is that Burke tried to stir up publicity by running an ad campaign against homophobia in hockey. Publicity or not, what's wrong with what he had to say? Maybe if his son was a ginger, he would run a campaign against that too. The fact of the matter is that the man's son died, and to honour his memory, he continues to push for gay rights, and the elimination of homophobia. That's a huge move from someone in his position considering the stance most fathers would take when they find out their son is gay.

Furthermore, in regards to the conversation on air, I would have liked to hear more of what Menzies had to say, mainly because it was based more on hate point of view than fact. Letting him finish the sentence when he said that gay men pose a higher risk of transmitting AIDS. Its a sexually transmitted disease, so EVERYONE who engages in sex is at risk. Everyone makes bad choices at some point in their life, and even when you think you're being safe $#!T happens, condoms break.

He seems to be as big of a prick as you are, Dean. I heard the show yesterday and everytime he was trying to make a point, you would start flapping your gums and interupting him. You have a problem with an open forum, listening to different opinions and debating? Is silencing others so that only your opinion is heard the way to get the message out as being the truth. Give the audience the option to decide for themselves by listening to all sides and don't ridicule them for having a different point of view. Must be nice being the shepard with all those sheep following you.

Funny how no one has the right to their own opinions on these newly imposed social standards but it's OK to attack and humiliate someone who doesn't agree with the way you think. George Orwell - 1984. Great book, shitty movie.

So let all the negative comments about my right to choose begin.

@EDGE Disc Golfer I think there's a direct and distinct link between John Travolta being outed as a man abusing bi sexual and Rob Ford gaining 4lbs in this weeks cut the waist farce. What's a sadder story is how long the person has to wait behind the Tub-o-Mayor in the KFC line up. David Menzies wishes he too had the courage to abuse male masseuses whilst wearing a towel. I'm outtie, Dean rocks. Piss on you morons for thinking otherwise. I'd tell you to eat shit as well, but you follow Ford, you do that as much as he does. Cheers Bitches!

Sorry Dean...you were the bigger prick yesterday.
Your political shtick is getting old and boring...just like having Psychic Nikki on.
Why is it you are always right and everybody else is wrong? You would not let David Menzies finish a sentence. You turned what would have been a good segment into one that was really hard to listen to. I know you like the sound of your voice, but if you invite somebody on to defend what they say, let them. I am a long time fan, but lately you have turned me into a channel surfer.
You can pass the cheese, but not take the crackers.

This prick was given a whole lot of credibility thanks to you Dean. I didn't even know the guy before I listened to the show, and I ended up thinking you were a bigger prick than he was. Jeez, we know you hate Rob Ford, but take a breath man, you came across as a complete dumb ass and took every opportunity to cut this guy off, twist his words, and insert your ignorance.

For the record, gay men as a populace ARE at higher risk of AIDS. David whateverhisname is never said they represented the highest risk factor as you tried to manipulate him into admitting. When I go to the clinic to get tested, I'm asked by doctors if I engage in anal sex..do you think this is because they're just curious??!!

Jesus man, stick to what you know...and get rid of Psychic Nikki. Your show is getting hard to listen to.

How Is Dean a bigger prick. This guy writes an article about Burke trying to re-make his image by being pro gay. Little does this guy and apparently you guys know, Burke has been pro gay a lot longer than this year after a Leafs collapse. Burke has pro gay since his son came out and has been trying to help gay people be accepted in sports since he was in Anaheim.

This is just some no good writer writing just for the sake of writing an article. Time for this prick and you guys to do some research before just accepting something someone says.
    1. EDGE Disc Golfer posted on 05/11/2012 09:54 AM
@dprisciak19 Are you telling me that Dean is always right?

The article was more about the timing of comments made by Burke and Avery. Burke is not as bad as he is depicted in the article but you have to admit Avery is a nut for being offended by a derogatory gay word after the things he has done and said about others.

What do you think about the post made by RobN_32 above? He doesn't help with trying to get the other point of view out there. I respect your opinion because you don't come across as an angry person on a mission to belittle people with opposing views.
    2. mrchris posted on 05/11/2012 10:32 AM
@dprisciak19 To answer your first question, Dean came across as the 'bigger prick' in the on air interview, not the article. Like I said, I don't know David Menzies from a hole in the ground, nor do I necessarily agree with his views, but the way Menzies was railroaded in the interview was pathetic. Dean doesn't have the intelligence or the political chops to run an ambush interview...he just comes across as a lunch-money bully at best.

As for Burke, your assumption is wrong. I know a lot about Burke and his support of homosexual rights. The article is slanted and leads to a ridiculous conclusion that infers Burke uses his pro-gay stance to bolster his Toronto image, but that doesn't change Dean's behaviour.

I hate to say it, but Dean is losing it. He has a hate on for Rob Ford, belittles his ex-wife at every opportunity (even while they were married) and calls people around him 'stupid idiots' all the time. This guy reminds me of the popular beer-swilling oaf that's fun at parties but is good for little else.

Btw, if you think I'm out of line for voicing my opinion and slamming Dean, remember, he put himself in the public eye...just like Rob Ford.
