I use to work the midnight shift and when it was time to head home on a Friday or Saturday morning or night. It would be Martins voice and music selection that got me home. Those nights will never be the same. Rest in Peace my friend.

I met Martin when Queens of the Stone Age were at the Edge studios a few years back. He was such an awesome guy...he treated people like people unlike some other Edge personalities.
There was better music played on the Kingdom and Phoenix nights than any other time throughout the week...and I saw him at so many shows.
Last time I saw him, he was pimpin on the balcony of the Phoenix during the Eagles of Death Metal.
That's how I will remember him.

The songs Jason posted where to me as much as the artists who wrote them as they were Martins. They are all "Solid" tracks. RIP Martin.

Martin your voice was a distinctive part of radio for most of my young life, being an Edge listener for a good 20 + years. May you find the peace you were looking for. My condolences to his family and friends.

Rest well dear friend. Your personality was only surpassed by your immense passion of music. You are already missed.

What can I say except you will be missed Martin. Much like everyone of my generation I grew up listening to you, either on the radio or live at the Phoenix. RIP my friend. ODAAT!

I am truely shock to hear of his passing. I did not know of him personally, however, he kept me company on many otherwise quiet and lonely Saturday nights. His energy and honesty will be missed.

Jason,
I remember that night too when Martin said the "F" word on the Thursday 30. I thought it was freaking hilarious. Classic Thursday 30 stuff. Do you remember the Marilyn Manson interview back in 1996? You can find it on the web. Hilarious. Thanks Jason.

I used hung out at the Phoenix every Saturday night and we would play pool with Martin. He was always full energy and was so funny. My favourite memories of the Phoenix were those that included Martin. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. A sad sad day RIP Martin

So sad! He was my music Guru when I first moved to Toronto in '94!I don't listen to 102.1 regularly anymore but did notice a couple of Sundays ago that some chipmunk chick that didn't know didley squat about what she was playing, was DJing from Velvet Underground....now I REALLY won't listen to The Edge anymore....I'll miss you, Martin!

What a shame ... over the years of CFNY & Roadshows, gigs in the Hammer, he was always such a nice guy & took the time to chat. RIP Martin, hope you find some peace ...

The Internet is an appropriate place to acknowledge it, when a public personality has passed. We need to know the station cares. Thank you for posting Jason, our thoughts are with you all.

Martin was one of the first DJs I can remember listening to when I first moved to the GTA from BC years ago.
He was/is a part of my music culture and definitely a part of my personal history; he will be sorely missed...
Thoughts and prayers to his family.
