Don’t do drugs kid… a local actor – Yep Corey Haim is dead.  Unfortunately, it only seemed like a matter of time.

I used to skateboard with Corey at Zion Heights around Leslie and Cummer where I grew up… everyone who knew him was elated by his success.  Too bad his success got the best of him.

Well, I haven’t seen Crazy Heart starring Jeff Bridges, but I have been a fan of his as I’ve watched him in many other movies (The Fabulous Baker Boys, The Big Lebowski, Iron Man, etc.)… I’ve also met him, which made me a bigger fan!

Yah, last September at a party on the Bridle Path sponsored by Vitamin Water for the movie Men Who Stare at Goats I had the pleasure of conversing with Mr. Bridges for about 10 minutes.  He actually pulled me aside and he instantly was one of the most impressive men I’ve ever met in my life.  Why?  Well, he exuded confidence, coolness and charisma, he was extremely cordial, he was direct, he listened to what I had to say… and most importantly – he basically gave me an intervention!  Yah, a real life intervention from Oscar Award winning Jeff Bridges!
