Councillor Expense Policy Could Be Changing
Toronto/Am640 News

5/31/2012

The Ford administration is set to change council’s office expense policy.

A new set of proposed rules is expected to be tabled at the June executive committee meeting.

One of Mayor Rob Ford’s first moves as Mayor was to cut councillor's office budgets from over $50,000 to $30,000.

Some of the new rules include offloading costs for things like phone bills and office renovations onto the general council budget.

Getting a majority to back the new rules will be tough though as most councillors believe those cuts have already curbed spending.
