Police are advising businesses and customers to be more vigilant when operating a point-of-sale machine.
Police say offenders are using a new tampering method where they can access the debit card information along with the pin code.
A micro magnetic stripe reader is inserted into the machines and the informantion is wirelessly transferred via bluetooth.
Retail locations and food carts are the most vulnerable targets for these crimes.
