Mountain bikers in the city are happy that the Parks, Forestry and Recreation department announced a new off road bike park just south of High Park between Colborne Lodge Drive and Ellis Avenue.
The mountain bikers were evicted from an unsanctioned bike park a year ago but will now have the jumps ramps and stunts installed by late fall.
The city is hiring a bike park designer from British Columbia to design the park and an open house will be held at 3 Ellis Avenue on June 21 at 6:30 p.m. to provide information and to get input on designs.
Other cities in the GTA like Mississauga, Markham and Kitchener all have similar parks and the Toronto park will be a welcome addition for local riders.
