A shooting in broad daylight has left one person dead.
Another person has been rushed to a local hospital.
Toronto Police are now investigating after shots were fired just after 3:30pm Monday near College and Ossington.
It happened at Sicilian Ice Cream Shop, killing 35-year-old John Raposo. The second victim was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect is described as male, white, 6' tall, with blonde hair, and was wearing a white hard hat, a safety vest with a fluorescent green "X" on the front and back, and a white filter mask.
Area residents are being asked to check their properties for any evidence that may have been discarded by the suspect.
In a related note, a police cruiser, en route to the scene, crashed into a car and bike, injuring a cyclist. All involved are expected to be okay. The SIU is investigating.
