It sparked one of the most heated moments between Rob Ford and the Toronto Star.
A piece of parkland behind the mayor's house.
Following a full board meeting at the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, that piece of land, will stay in the public's interest.
The TRCA unanimously denied Ford's request to purchase the almost 3,000 square foot parkette near his home, a piece of land the mayor said was to increase security around the property.
The vote, followed a recommendation that said selling off the land would go against the mandate of conserving valley corridors.
