With the promise of more patrols on city streets to curb the recent spike in gun violence, changes to the police force's budget could throw a wrench into the gears.
The Toronto Police Board has approved a budget freeze for 2013, which could likely bring staffing changes, including layoffs.
The Board has also agreed to try and find an additional five per cent in savings, as long as it doesn't infringe on public safety.
