30 Seconds To Mars Posts Samples Of Entire Album Online
LaunchDaily
11/11/2009

30 Seconds To Mars has posted samples of every song from its upcoming album, This Is War, online at YouTube. The record utilizes a variety of new sounds for the band, including everything from Tibetan monks to the voices of fans to recordings of animals. Frontman and mastermind Jared Leto told us what his goals were for the record: "Well, as I was writing the record, I always thought about it and talked about it a lot as it being like listening to a film. I wanted it to be a really visual experience. I also wanted to include a lot of the non-musical sounds that surrounded us in our lives, so there are a lot of very personal, very specific sounds and I think that helps to further the unique quality of the songs and the personal elements as well."

30 Seconds To Mars has also contributed the title track of This Is War to the in-game soundtrack of the new role playing game Dragon Age: Origins.

This Is War arrives in stores on December 8th and follows up 30 Seconds To Mars' platinum 2005 sophomore effort, A Beautiful Lie.

The band had fans worldwide submit recordings of their own voices and pictures of themselves to be used on the album, in addition to inviting 1,000 fans to sing in the studio earlier this year in Los Angeles.

30 Seconds To Mars will begin a short tour in support of the new CD on November 30th in Salt Lake City, ending on December 19th in Cleveland.
