Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher revealed in an Italian radio interview that he will return to the stage with a new band soon -- and that the new group will feature all the members of Oasis except for his brother, guitarist Noel Gallagher.
Liam explained, "We're sort of doing things at the moment. Not Oasis, Oasis is done. Everyone except for Noel."
Oasis came to an end in late August after the Gallagher brothers nearly came to blows just before a show in Paris. Noel quit the band the following day.
Despite reports that Liam hit his brother with a guitar, the singer said that the incident went down differently: "I didn't smash it (the guitar) on him, I wish I had, man. He sort of . . . treated my guitar poorly, which was a present off my wife. So I thought it was only fair to pay the compliment so I smashed one of his. It sounds ridiculous, like a pair of old women."
Liam also said that he thinks Noel had been wanting to leave the band for a long time, remarking, "We had an argument -- but we've had bigger ones, about more important people. Basically, I think he wanted out, wanted something different, but he hadn't got the bollocks to tell the band or the fans."
Liam Gallagher founded Oasis in 1991 with Paul Arthurs, Paul McGuigan and Tony McCaroll. Noel joined shortly afterward and took over as main songwriter.
The Gallagher brothers were the only original members of the band left when they split, with the rest of the current lineup featuring guitarist/keyboardist Colin Archer, bassist Andy Bell and drummer Chris Sharrock.
