Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl was the subject of a online tirade from Courtney Love, who called Grohl a "sociopath" who is "obsessed with his hatred" of Love's late husband, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.
According to Loudwire, Love was set off by a post at Gothamist.com about the use of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" in the recent movie The Muppets. Love alleged that she vetoed the use of the song in that film, along with the use of Nirvana music in the upcoming movie Battleship, the TV show Dancing With The Stars and a Gatorade commercial, but was overruled by Grohl and Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic.
Writing under the name "Rose Of Sharon" in the comments section, Love spewed, "(Grohl) is obsessed not so much with me with his hatred of kurt -- he knew kurt never wanted to be disneyfied, i know lisa henson (daughter of Muppets creator Jim Henson) very well . . . in fact this is an epic f***ing scandal."
Love also claimed that Grohl and Novoselic only held a 1.2 percent share of the publishing rights to "Teen Spirit," before shockingly asserting that "we" -- meaning she and Cobain -- "wrote every single note."
Not surprisingly, Grohl has not wasted a second of his time responding to Love's claims.
Foo Fighters just played at Lollapalooza Brazil this past weekend and will next appear at the New Orleans Jazz Festival on May 6th.
