Blink-182 Cancels Dates Over Medical Emergency

Blink-182 has been forced to cancel its appearance at New Jersey's Bamboozle Festival, as well as a number of other tour dates, due to drummer Travis Barker needing a sudden emergency tonsillectomy, according to Billboard.com. The band announced the bad news through its Facebook page. My Chemical Romancewill now fill in for the veteran punk trio at the event, which takes place in Asbury Park, New Jersey, from May 18th through the 20th.

Blink has also scrapped a number of other May dates, including shows in New York, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Quebec.

Two concerts in Thackerville, Oklahoma have been rescheduled for September, but it does not look like the rest of the dates will be made up.

Barker is expected to be ready for action by June, when Blink will take off on a two-month European tour.

All the dates, canceled or otherwise, are part of Blink's 20th anniversary celebration. The group reunited in 2009 after a five-year hiatus, releasing a new album called Neighborhoods last year.
