British alternative folk act Mumford & Sons is bringing its Gentlemen Of The Roadtour to the U.S. this August with a limited set of four "stopovers." According to a press release, each "stopover" will begin with a concert at a unique location and end with a series of smaller events involving local businesses and venues. Mumford & Sons will headline the main show and select the acts that will also appear on the bill.
The four "stopovers" are scheduled for Portland, Maine on August 4th, Bristol, Virginia on August 11th, Dixon, Illinois on the 18th and Monterey, California on the 25th. Tickets will be $69, with no additional service fees or hidden charges. Each ticket will include a commemorative Gentlemen Of The Road Stopover Passport plus an exclusive digital download compilation album featuring performances taken from various acts across the four shows.
Other acts slated to appear in various combinations at the shows include Grouplove, Gogol Bordello, Apache Relay, Dawes and more.
Tickets for all the shows go on sale this Friday (June 1st), except Dixon, which will be available on June 9th. All tickets will go on sale exclusively at the tour's official website.
The band said in a statement, "We want to stop off in towns where bands don't usually tour, and celebrate the local people, food and music. We're keen to promote the town's local businesses, and we'll be using the local bars and venues for after-show parties, whilst working closely with the local people to get everyone involved in making these shows spectacular."
