Garbage singer Shirley Manson kicked a male concertgoer out of the band's show last Friday (May 25th) in Atlantic City, New Jersey after she spotted him hitting a female fan. According to Spinner, the band was in the middle of their hit "Stupid Girl" when Manson noticed the man beating on a woman in the front row. After he threw several punches, Manson halted the song and demanded that he stop, saying, "Dude. Never hit a f***ing woman. What the f*** is wrong with you, man?"
Manson kept yelling at the attacker as he was escorted out of the venue. She finally restarted the song, saying, "OK, we're going to try that one again. Oh s***, you're getting all racy in here. What the f*** is going on, Atlantic City?"
The alleged attacker reportedly said that the woman started the altercation with him, leading Manson to say, "You're fighting baby, you gotta leave now. You can't f***ing fight, man. You can't fight. I'm sorry, that's the rules man. We just need to all simmer down."
Garbage is on the road behind its fifth studio album and first new record in seven years, Not Your Kind Of People, which arrived on May 22nd.
The band ends its tour in California this weekend, wrapping up with a radio festival in Chula Vista on June 3rd and then taking off for Europe.
