Two Door Cinema Club announced via Rolling Stone that they will make their triumphant return to North America on September 28 as they kick off their fall headline tour at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park, New York City. Two Door Cinema Club will play 22 dates across North America, including a stop at the Sound Academy in Toronto on Friday, October 5. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, July 20 at 10am.
Two Door Cinema Club recently announced the release of their highly anticipated sophomore album, BEACON, which is set for release on September 4th, 2012. Following their headline slot on February’s NME Awards Tour, the band, Alex Trimble, Kevin Baird and Sam Halliday, travelled to Los Angeles, California to record the album with acclaimed producer Jacknife Lee (Bloc Party, U2, REM) in his home studios. The result is a bold statement of intent - an ambitious and heartfelt selection of tracks showcasing a stunning depth of songwriting and a broader, more mature sound.
In an exclusive story with Rolling Stone, Kevin Baird states, "We recorded our first album in London, and this time we just got to drive up PCH [Pacific Coast Highway] and drive by the sea, and it was lovely. We were so much more focused and so much more excited to be in there and doing it."
