CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS

THE EDGE GET A LIFE


1. THE CONTEST AND THE CONTEST PERIOD

The Edge Get A Life contest (the “Contest”) commences at 12:00 a.m. on March 9, 2009 and concludes at 11:59p.m. on March 31, 2009 (the “Contest Period”)

2. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY

3. ELIGIBILITY

The Contest is open to residents of Ontario, who are 19 years of age or older, but excluding employees and directors of 102.1 THE EDGE (“102.1 THE EDGE”), Corus Entertainment Inc. (“Corus”), SIR Corp. (Jack Astor’s Bar and Grill), Lasik MD, Kromer Radio, Vespa Canada, Fred Perry (the “Sponsors”), any affiliate (as defined in the Canada Business Corporations Act) of 102.1 THE EDGE or Corus (the “Affiliates”), employees, directors and officers of their respective advertising and promotional agencies, as well as family members of any of the foregoing.

4. HOW TO ENTER

To qualify, log on to www.edge.ca (the “Website”) and become a registered member of “THE INSIDE EDGE” by filling in the information requested. All previously registered INSIDE EDGE members are eligible to enter. To enter, members should visit the Website and click on the “Enter Now” link. Entrants must submit a photograph only of themselves (the “Photo”) that complies with the Photo Requirements (see below), as well as a short written submission (the “Written Submission”) that complies with the Written Submission Requirements (see below).. . Entries that are not completed in full or that do not comply with the Photo and Written Submission Requirements will be disqualified. All qualified entries will be posted on the Website within 48 hours of submission, and will remain posted throughout the remainder of the Contest Period.

5. HOW TO WIN

Each week day during the Contest Period, beginning March 11, 2009, one (1) entrant will be randomly selected during each of the Dean Blundell Show, Mid-Day Show, Drive, and Evening Show (the “Semi-finalists”). Each Semi-Finalists’ Written Submission will be read live on the air at the time the entrant is selected. On April 2, 2009, the Dean Blundell Show will randomly select and announce the names of the ten (10) entrants who will compete in the Contest’s final round (the “Finalists”). Finalists will be contacted either by a member of the 102.1 THE EDGE’s promotions department or by on-air staff. Finalists must be available on April 3, 2009 to participate in the live broadcast of the Contest finale at 102.1 The Edge studios during the Dean Blundell Show (the “Finale”). If the entrant selected as a Finalist is not available for the finale, or fails to attend the Finale, his or her entry will be disqualified. During the Finale, members of the Dean Blundell Show will place the names of all Finalists on a wheel, and spin it; the Finalist show name the wheel points to after one spin will be awarded the Grand Prize, as further described below.

6. PHOTO REQUIREMENTS

Photos submitted with each Contest entry must confirm to the following requirements:
• JPG or GIF file format
• Images must be at least 270 pixels wide
• File must not exceed 1MB in size
• The first image uploaded is primary [NTD – what does this mean?]

7. WRITTEN SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Written submissions submitted with each Contest entry must conform to the following requirements:

• Must be legibly written in the English language
• Must not exceed 125 words
• Must not contain crude or vulgar language; language considered in appropriate for broadcast will be redacted and not read on air.

8. CONTENT RIGHTS

By entering the Contest, each entrant grants to 102.1 THE EDGE, Corus and the Sponsors (i) 102.1 THE EDGE the non-exclusive right and license to publish, display, reproduce, modify, edit or otherwise use the photographs and written submissions provided by each entrant, in whole or in part on the Website and/or for advertising or promoting the Contest or for any other reason; (ii) 102.1 THE EDGE permission to use his or her first name, address, voice, statements about the Contest and/or photograph or other likeness without further compensation, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by 102.1 THE EDGE or the Sponsors in any manner whatsoever, including print, broadcast or the Internet; and (iii) to release and hold harmless 102.1 THE EDGE, the Sponsors and its advertising and promotion agencies, and each of their respective agents, employees, directors, successors, and assigns, against any and all claims, injury or damage arising out of or in relating to participation in the Contest, and further against any claims based on publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy, copyright infringement, trade-mark infringement or any other intellectual property related cause of action.

9. THE GRAND PRIZE

The Grand Prize includes:

• CDN$12,000 CDN in spending money
• One (1) gift certificate with a value of CDN $2,500 to be used at any Jack Astor’s Bar and Grill location [where?]
• One (1) gift certificate with a value of CDN $3,500 to be used for laser vision correction at any Lasik MD location in ONTARIO
• One (1) home theatre package consisting of:
i) one (1) Samsung LN40A650 LCD 1080p HDTV
ii) one (1) Panasonic SC-PTX7 2.1 surround sound system
iii) one (1) Panasonic SHFX85 second zone unit
iv) one (1) Bello FP4224 stand
• one (1) 50cc Vespa scooter
• Selected clothing from Fred Perry

10. THE GRAND PRIZE VALUE

The approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is $29,070.

11. DEADLINE FOR CLAIMING GRAND PRIZE

The Grand Prize winner must claim the Grand Prize by 10:00p.m. on April 10, 2009 (the “Deadline”). If the Grand Prize winner fails either to claim the Grand Prize or inform 102.1 THE EDGE of his or her inability to claim the Grand Prize before the Deadline, his or her entry will be forfeited and another eligible entrant will be selected.

12. LIMITATION ON NUMBER OF ENTRIES PERMITTED

Only one entry per person per household is permitted. Multiple entries will be discarded. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are reproduced, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.

13. CHANCES OF WINNING

Chances of winning depend on the total number of registered Contest entrants.

14. DECLARATION AND RELEASE OF GRAND PRIZE WINNER

Before being awarded the Grand Prize the Grand Prize winner must:

a) Correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited skill-testing mathematical question; and

b) Sign a standard form confirming that by entering the Contest:

• he or she read, understood and accepted these rules and regulations;

• that he or she understands that acceptance of the Grand Prize may involve danger and/or exposure to risks and hazards of both man-made and natural origin, whether arising from foreseeable or unforeseeable human error and negligence, and that, as a result, he or she may suffer damage to personal property, serious personal injury, illness or even death;

• that he or she nevertheless freely and voluntarily agrees and does hereby assume any and all risks of personal injury, illness, death arising out of or connected with his or her participation in the Contest and winning the Grand Prize; and

• that he or she releases 102.1 THE EDGE, Corus, the Affiliates, the Sponsors, and all of their directors, officers, employees, agents as well as their respective advertising and promotional agencies (collectively, the “Releasees”) from any and all liability arising in connection with participation in the Contest and acceptance of the Grand Prize, including, without limitation, any financial, legal or moral responsibility or loss or personal injury including death or damage to or loss of property suffered or incurred or arising from participating in the Contest or accepting the Grand Prize, whether suffered by the Grand Prize winner, or by his or her heirs, administrators, personal representatives or executors, and notwithstanding that such injuries or losses may have been caused solely or partly by any act, omission, negligence or gross negligence of any or all of the Releasees.

15. GRAND PRIZE TO BE ACCEPTED AS AWARDED

The decision of the Contest judges is final, and the Grand Prize must be accepted as awarded. No portion of the Grand Prize is transferable. The Grand Prize is not redeemable for cash and no substitute for any portion of the Grand Prize is offered. Should the Grand Prize winner be unable to claim the Grand Prize as awarded, his or her entry will be forfeited and another eligible Contest entrant will be selected.

16. NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES

Neither 102.1 THE EDGE nor Corus makes any representation or offers any warranty, express or implied, as to the quality or fitness of the Grand Prize. The Grand Prize winner understands and acknowledges that he or she may not seek reimbursement or pursue any legal or equitable remedy from 102.1 THE EDGE or Corus should the Grand Prize fail to be fit for its purpose or is in any other way unsatisfactory to the Grand Prize winner.

17. SUBSTITUTION OR CHANGE TO THE CONTEST

102.1 THE EDGE, Corus, the Sponsors and their respective advertising and promotional agencies reserve the right to substitute the Grand Prize or any component thereof, for one of approximately the same value and reserve the right to change the Contest rules or terminate or withdraw the Contest at any time, without prior notice.

18. OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES

All entries shall become the property of 102.1 THE EDGE, Corus, the Sponsors and their advertising and promotional agencies. The Releasees assume no responsibility for lost, stolen, destroyed or otherwise indecipherable entries due to any failure or technical malfunction of the telephone network, on-line computer systems of equipment, servers, access providers, software, poor reception, technical problems, failure of any email or submission or due to any other reason regardless of cause.

19. CONSENT TO USE OF PERSONALITY

By entering the Contest, each entrant, including the Grand Prize winner consents to the use of his or her name, city of residence, photograph, voice, likeness, image or any other aspect of his or her personality for any publicity and programming purposes, commercial or otherwise, in all media used by 102.1 THE EDGE, Corus, the Sponsors, promoters and their advertising and promotional agencies, without any payment or compensation. The Grand Prize winner further agrees that his or her audio reaction may be used for on-air promotional purposes. The entrants understand and acknowledge that 102.1 THE EDGE may contact him or her on-air without prior knowledge as a result of his or her participation in the Contest.

20. CONSENT TO COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

By entering the Contest and voluntarily providing personal information including, but not limited to, name, address, city, email address, home and office telephone numbers (the “Registrant Information”), each Contest entrant grants permission to 102.1 THE EDGE, Corus and the Sponsors to the collection and use of the Registrant Information for the exclusive purpose of administering the Contest and selecting the Grand Prize winner. No correspondence will take place between 102.1 THE EDGE, Corus, the Sponsors and the entrants except in connection with the Contest and, in the case of the Grand Prize winner, as a result of entering the Contest and winning the Grand Prize.

21. NO DISRUPTION TO CONTEST

All Contest entrants agree to respect the entry process and the operation of the Contest as outlined in these rules and regulations. 102.1 THE EDGE, Corus or the Sponsors may disqualify or ban from future contests any Contest entrant or person who 102.1 THE EDGE, Corus or the Sponsors believes is tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, to be acting in a disruptive or unsportsmanlike manner, or behaving with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any person associated with 102.1 THE EDGE, Corus or the Sponsors. Any attempt to deliberately damage a website or to undermine the legitimate operation of a contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should any such attempt be made by a Contest entrant or other person, 102.1 THE EDGE, Corus and the Sponsors may seek damages or other relief from such Contest entrant or other person to the fullest extent permitted by law.

23. COMPLIANCE WITH CONTEST RULES

All contestants agree to abide by these Contest rules and regulations, which are subject to change at the sole discretion of 102.1 THE EDGE, Corus and the Sponsors.

24. COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS

This Contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all federal, provincial, territorial and municipal laws and regulations of Canada and of each province, territory and municipality of Canada, respectively.
