Alan Cross is the Senior Program Director for Corus Interactive and Integrated Solutions, the online arm of Corus Radio. Between 2004 and 2008, he was program director of 102.1 the Edge/Toronto and was named PD of the Year at CMW in 2005, 2006 and 2008.

Alan’s acclaimed weekly rock documentary program, The Ongoing History of New Music, debuted in February 1993 and since then it’s…well, it's taken on a life of its own. Consider this: There have been over 600 one-hour episodes (all researched, written and produced by Alan) making it the longest-running music documentary in Canada and one of the longest in North America—if not the world.

The show is now heard on a dozen stations across Canada and has spun off four books (all written by Alan), which have worldwide sales of over 30,000 copies, not to mention almost 20 different compilation CDs (including four official Ongoing History discs).

Alan also has a weekly national newspaper column in the Metro commuter paper and four audio books, The Alan Cross Guide to Alternative Rock, Volumes 1, 2, 3, and 4 – some of the best selling audio books ever for Harper Collins Canada. A TV show—ExploreMusic with Alan Cross—debuted on Bite-TV/Aux-TV (a Canadian diginet that’s carried by cable systems across Canada)in January 2009.

And if that wasn’t enough, over the years, Alan has produced in-flight audio programming for Air Canada, written trivia questions for the Microsoft Network, appeared as a guest on various TV and radio shows, written official biographies for a variety of rock bands, narrated TV shows, documentaries and infomercials, and written articles for both newspapers and magazines.

Alan’s latest project is as head of Chief Musical Officer of ExploreMusic and ExploreMusic.com, a new radio-and-web initiative by Splice, Corus Entertainment’s online division. It provides music fans new ways to discover music and to recommends music to other fans in innovative ways that merge traditional and new music.
