War Child

War Child has joined forces with 102.1 The Edge to bring you a weekly online auction of amazing memorabilia, tickets, and unique experiences, while helping children in war zones.  New auction items will be announced every Thursday at 9:00 pm on 102.1 The Edge, as part of Thursday 30 with Dave Bookman.

The War Child auction item featured this week includes:

• Two tickets to see The Trews at Toronto Music Hall on Mar. 23, 2012

• A Meet and Greet with the band

• Two wristbands to Canadian Music Fest (Mar. 21-25, 2012)

Bid quickly as this item will only be up for one week.

All auction items have been generously donated and all money raised will go towards helping children whose lives have been devastated by war. A new item will be offered each week, so keep checking the site for updates.
Within two years of releasing their Juno nominated debut album, House of Ill Fame, The Trews were getting calls to share the stage with some of the greatest bands in rock and roll history. From the Rolling Stones to Led Zeppelin’s front man Robert Plant, this four-piece from Antigonish, Nova Scotia acquired some famous fans. No stranger to radio, fist pumping anthems like “I’m not Ready to Go” and “Tired of Waiting” quickly rose on the charts. Off the record, The Trews became known for their vivacious live performances and their rock mash-ups combining their hit singles with classics like Bob Marley’s “Stir-it Up”, or Tom Petty’s “You Don’t Know How it Feels”.

The Trews are on the road again and will be one of over 900 bands showcased during Canadian Music Week taking place in Toronto March 21-25th. Others on the bill include Treble Charger, I Mother Earth, and Temper Trap, just to name a few. www.thetrewsmusic.com
