So, I've been planning on going to the CNE this year but when I go to the CNE... I GO to the CNE. Meaning, I like to go on all the rides and eat all the bacon. For these reasons it tends to get a tad expensive, considering paying for admission doesn't give you access to rides/food. And at the end of the summer, who the hell has money to burn? I looked into it... are you aware that on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays admission to the CNE is $5 after 5pm? Kinda sweet for those of us who live in Toronto and can head down after work. Then I realized something that got me all excited... The Arkells are playing a show there on a WEDNESDAY night (tonight). I don’t normally write blogs like this, however an incident this morning has left me so appalled that I must express how I feel or I might do something overly dramatic. I have to first say, that as a young lady working overnight shifts and taking public transit at all hours in downtown Toronto, I have always valued our Police and the safety they provide. In fact, I am the first one to stick up for the police when people do that classic “F the POLICE” shpeel. I stick up for them, even though I’ve never actually had one stick up for me. How many different words can YOU come up with for the word 'drunk'? Wasted, gassed, intoxicated, smashed, loaded, just to name a few. This chick sings 91 different words in less than a minute. I can't make out the first 50. I think she was drunk while making this video.

So, I guess the cool thing for bands to do these days is cover Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know. Everybody's doing it. I picked my favorite cover of this song. I feel like it has a nice ring to it - plus there's a super awesome video that goes with it as well! Hopefully it's the last cover. (we hear enough of the real version as it is)
