The rain seemed to be bumming people out, so we started to serenade the lineup with positive rain-related songs. Its rainin’ men. Halleluiah!
I thought I had a decent umbrella until I saw some of the umbrellas people brought last night! Some of them could probably shelter a handful of people quite comfortably. Some looked like they belonged on the beach, protecting entire families from the sun. Some were massive, like decent-sized hotel suites with room service and everything! My umbrella is miniature, flimsy, and purple. OF COURSE the colour matters! It’s a fact that purple deflects precipitation better than any other colour, you know.
All in all, the night was alive with people ...

The Blue Jays 2010 Season and Me

Hey there,

For the first year of my life, I bought a Blue Jays Star Pass which enabled me to go to every Blue Jays home game of the 2010 season and what a year it has been.

By the middle of the season I was pretty used to seeing home run after home run after home run. Something was in the air because those balls traveled further this year then any other year resulting in a new Blue Jays club record for most home runs in one season.

Previous record - 244 Home Runs
New 2010 Record - 257 Home Runs

And we owe it all to this guy:

I was there to see that. Jealous? I'll never forget it.

From then I have got to experience tons of great things. I have met some awesome people and gotten to do a ton of awesome things. This blog is a recollection of all the great things I got to do this summer ending with the Casbys.
First I want to look back at some of the concerts: Broken Bells = good times, I also must say I think they released one of the best albums of the summer. Hole was amazing, which I was not expecting. I thought I would get to see a floored Courtney Love who barley could sing a song. Instead I saw Courtney put on a wicked show with flying bras. We also checked out Dead Weather, Jack White is in the band, enough said. Cypress Hill was ...

A Penny For Your Thoughts?

Here we are again – as we slip into October, we face a chain of days, strung together into a new month. Tomorrow, and every day after that, is full of fresh opportunities and decisions waiting to be made. The feeling is almost humbling, isn’t it – knowing every day is different, no matter how repetitive they sometimes seem.
The sun comes up, the sun goes down; even if today was rotten and you feel completely miserable, let it comfort you to know that tomorrow will be different. Life is not made out of cookie cutters – you mustn’t look at every day in the same light as the last, or you’ll never evolve. It can be tough to grasp, (easier said than done) but once you catch yourself loathing the cookie cutter effect, know that you already have everything you need to change your way of thinking.
We all ...

2010 Casby Music Awards!

Hey there Toronto!Last night I had the pleasure of working the Casby's. With killer performances by Hollerado, Hot Hot Heat, Elias, Tokyo Police Club, and Alexisonfire, it was a wicked night. I stood out front with all you guys in line and high-fived you on your way in, or took pictures with you while you waited. I don't think I've ever been to a concert where there were that many Edge listeners in one place!! It was absolutely awesome! Then to top the night off, before they went on stage I got to meet Alexisonfire!! I'm a big fan, have been since the first time I heard them on the radio..(Probably on the Edge!) and getting to shake their hands and tell them that was a cool feeling. They we're awesome guys and even hung around after the show to sign stuff for people- considering they're by far the ...

Next Time I'm Bringing a Catcher's Mit...

Casby's, oh Casby's. They should call it the Awesome Awards because this is honestly a killer time if you've never been. Seriously, you should go. Alexisonfire, Hot Hot Heat, The Trews, Hollerado, Tokyo Police Club, KO, and Elias hit the stage to feed the masses the new rock they desired, and did it with a hell of alot of flair. But for me, the real party was in the line-up. I don't think I've ever high fived so many people in a row in my life...which is why I'm wearing a catcher's mit next year. Damn, my hand was physically assaulted at some points! But it was worth it in the end, and I'm sure once the swelling goes down, I'll be high five-ing like nobodies business. It's a long road to recovery. Mike

Casby's 2010

The 2010 Casby's ruled!!! The atmosphere was amazing and hundreds of lucky ticket winners came out to rock out! True Canadian fans of all ages came to show their love for our native musicians and partied like rock stars. The performances by Alexisonfire, The Trews, Tokyo Police Club, KO, Hollerado, and Hot Hot Heat were amazing and a couple lucky fans even won tickets from us to see Hot Hot Heat in concent later this month. We set up a rock band contest and to win the tickets you had to show us how much of a rock god you were, the best of the best won tickets! It was an amazing night and a night i soon won't forget!

One of the things I remember Norm best for is The Norm Show. It was about a NHL player who had to do community service to avoid jail time due to some crimes he committed. It only lasted 3 seasons from 99 – 01 and you can now get the complete series on DVD. Another one of Norm’s accomplishments I remember him for is Saturday Night Live. I was a bit young to appreciate it back then but watching it now is great. Norm has also done work with Family Guy; he was Death in the Death’s a bitch episode. He has also been in quite a few great movies. I always loved his role in Billy Madison, and he is the main character ...
